- Due to the steep eastern slopes of the Taebaek Mountains, the river valley of this region is rather short, and therefore, floods rarely occur. However, because of the fast currents of the river, there are occasional water shortages during the dry season. The extended coastline of this region offers many magnificent views, such as the Chuam Haegeumgang. Several beaches are also scattered along the coast, including Mangsang beach, the largest beach in the country, offering great vacational destinations.
